Tamarind Rice Recipe:

Ingrediants:

 Name

Quantity

Tamarind

1  1/2 lemon size

Rice

1 cup / 300ml

Water

2 cups

For Seasoning:

Name

Chillies

Ginger

1 small piece

Ground nuts

1/4th cup 

chana daal

2 tbl spns 

Urad Daa  

2 tbl spns 

Jeera 

1 tbl spn 

Mustard Seeds 

1 tbl spn 

Turmeric

1/2 tbl spn 

Salt  

to taste 

Hing

1/4 spoon 

Oil  

for frying 

Corriander seeds

1/4 cup 

Seasame seeds 

1/4 cup 

Red chillies

 Preparation:
 
  1. Cook Rice and keep aside. After cooking open the cover and let it cool.
  2. Soak the tamarind for 1 hour and extract the juice.
  3. Take the pan add oil for frying. After heating the oil add mustard seeds , jeera, urad daal, chana daal , ground nuts.
  4. After frying add turmeric powder and fry it.
    And Keep it aside.
  5. Take the pan and add oil and heat it.
  6. After heating and chillies and ginger and fry  them.
  7. Then add the extracted taramanid to it.
  8. Let it cook like into a semi liquid state.
  9. Tamarind Rice taste good only when the tamarind gets nicely cooked.
  10. Afte that add the fried seasonings and tamarind juice to rice.
  11. Then add salt as required and mix well.
  12. Dry fry the seasame ,Coriander seeds , Red chillies & grind to a powder.
  13. Lastly add the powder if you like it.
  14. If the tamarind extract is left you can use it when indeed.
