| Tips for H4-Visa Girls coming to USA: NOTE: What are the things we need to get to US. Exactly we don't no what we can get here. Here are all my experiences. So I advice you all to get the things you really need because the weight we should carry is limited. degree certificate 10th certificate +2 certificate marriage certificate transcripts (if you want to do MS or other studies) project certificates(if you have done any projects outside) driving license (if you had in India either 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler)
We don't get priya pickles here . They are banned. But upto my knowledge no one can beat priya pickles . You can get pickles fully wrapped with polythene covers because they may leak if they were not neatly packed.
As usual we need pressure cooker, idli cooker, roti maker, steel dishes, steel plates, hot packs... etc.... Among these we can get pressure cooker , roti maker , idli cooker ,hot packs in online, so we can buy those things after coming to US through online. We can get them with in 7 working days. As we can order them before we starting in India. Decide about cookers in India and order and get the spare parts for cookers like gaskets , safety valves, pressure indicators , whistles for pressure cooker and idli cooker .(at least 5). because they are costly and may not find the right one.About steel dishes and plates I can't find it in online . If you are intersted in using steel utensils you can get them from India.when you are coming. We can get Utensils for cooking here itself in sets. We can get coffee filters, grater, peeler in US. Some are intersted in using coconut in cooking. For them we can get fresh coconut grated and coconut pieces in Indian stores.
If you are coming in winter season : Get some jeans and tops . Here also we can get jeans and tops. don't get too many sarees and chudidhars . get like 5 or... If you are interested in wearing chudidhars you can get some. we can't wear sarees. If you are getting your mother or mother-in-law to US and ask about wearing chudidhar they will kick you. For them they will wear thick sarees and socks & shoes while they come out.
If you are coming in summer season: Get some cotton stuff becasue here summer is also heavy. sun will be very brigth.
- If you are willing to do job in US try to learn some languages like java, scripting languages, testing tools...... They will be very usefull after getting h1B to do job.
- Learning all these languages here is very expensive.
- In US life starts with car. most of them use cars. there are pros and cons in learning driving in India. Here there are many traffic rules to follow . If you learn driving in India you can know how to handle stearing.
- In India we have left side driving, but in US it is rigth side driving. so its difficult to drive in early days.
- Getting driving license in US need some effort in reading book. We need to pass the exam to get learning license , many people fail this exam in 1st attempt. To write the exam we need some stuff like- any bills on our name, driving license in India and more we can find in corressponding state website.
- Many people fail in the written test. So to pass the exam we need to do some home work. Read the book well like point to point. Don't miss any line and understand it. Because they are little bit confusing.
- Then take the practise test with different states. You can get them in internet.
- Here are some links for different states washinton state , Oregon state , Arizona state , Nevada state , Texas state , North Carolina state .
- After passing the exam , will go for drive test. This test also need lot of practise. Take the practise test aroung the place where the office is situated. Practise 4 or 5 times there.
- We should follow some rules like stopping at stop sign, stopping at red signal, yield to pedestrians, following the school zone signals, giving signal when entering into the traffic etc.. , violating these rules they wll fail us in the test and will ask us to after 2 weeks like that.
- So be carefull while doing the exam. Not only at the time of exam , after the exam also , because life is very valuable ,careless driving leads to accident suffering others is like a death. So follow the traffic rules and enjoy the driving have fun. All the best.
